Privacy Policy

How DK Info collects, uses, and safeguards reader information, and how California residents can exercise CCPA rights.

Scope

This privacy policy applies to information collected when you visit drkrmlibrary.org. It describes what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights over your data. It is intended to satisfy the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), as well as general US federal consumer-protection expectations.

What we collect

Our site is content-focused and we collect minimal data. When you visit a page, our web server logs the standard technical information every web request produces: your IP address, the time of the request, the URL requested, the referrer if provided by your browser, and your browser's user-agent string. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, or payment information because our site does not offer any account-based service.

If you email us at [email protected], we receive whatever information is in your email - typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this information to respond to your correspondence and for no other purpose.

Why we collect it

Server log data is used to operate the site, diagnose technical problems, prevent abuse (such as automated scraping or attempts to overwhelm the server), and produce aggregate traffic statistics that help us understand which pages readers find useful. Email correspondence is used to respond to your specific message and to keep an editorial record of correction requests where applicable.

Analytics

DK Info uses a privacy-preserving analytics tool to produce aggregate traffic statistics. The tool does not use tracking cookies, does not build cross-site user profiles, and does not sell data to third parties. The aggregate data it produces (page views, referring sources, approximate country of origin at IP level) is available only to the DK Info editorial team and is used to inform editorial priorities.

Cookies

Our site uses only essential cookies. Details are in the cookie policy. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not use cross-site tracking pixels, and we do not embed third-party social widgets that would set their own cookies on your browser without your action.

How we share data

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We disclose personal information only when required by law (for example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order) or when necessary to protect the security of our site (for example, sharing an IP address with our hosting provider in response to a specific abuse incident).

Retention

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostic purposes and then deleted or aggregated beyond the point of individual identification. Email correspondence is retained for as long as the editorial matter it concerns remains open, and then archived. Analytics aggregate data is retained indefinitely because it contains no personal identifiers.

Your CCPA rights

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the CCPA and CPRA: the right to know what personal information we have collected, the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (which does not apply because we do not sell or share it), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] with the specific request. We respond to verifiable requests within 45 days as required by statute.

Children

Our site is intended for adult readers. Gaming content is not appropriate for children, and licensed US casino operations require account holders to be 21 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The date of the most recent update is shown at the bottom of this page. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for a reasonable period following the change.
